Based on the concept of a picnic, Outdoor Dining explores the concept of integration between domestic indoor spaces and nature. Exploring tradition and heritage , Colours and plants in the glassware was linked to those used to traditionally produce tartan. This Direct link to my heritage was derived from my surname ‘Forsyth’ which was a Celtic name , one which has two tartans which are still actively used worldwide by the clan.
The work explores a simple victorian concept which links to my taxonomical references and provides a nostalgic incentive to the viewer. The work exploring a picnic, flipped on its head to perform an innate scene of how we domesticated mother nature and the transformation houseplants have on our life and our link to our past as a species.
