Experimentation allowed me to expand my understanding of the process of application and distribution of pigmen on an outcome. such vessels were created to inhibit different traits. the building of pigment, distribution of colour and the technique of overlaying colour. this was significant in establishing a colour palette for installations and the outcome colours may have, including its impact on the body of work.
Outcomes and Experimentation: May & June 2025
Outcomes & Experimentation: January - April 2025
The exploration for the overlay of multiple colours allowed me to visualise how this may be reflected. This posed the question of how projecting light onto these vessels may produce patterns and how this outcome may affect future practices. I would also like to attempt to refract light off these pieces to see how the colour differs from clear glass. Whilst these works do not directly link to my practice currently, the ability to explore new techniques In glassblowing enabled me to have much better experience and a better understanding of the material and its tendencies. These vessels also continue to inform me about the ways which colour can be affected in the heat of the glassblowing process and allows me to develop a refined skillset when ti comes to creating uniformity in my practice. By practising on coloured pieces, it also allows me to understand the uniformity required in a professional environment. Whilst most of these pieces were made in practice, the ideas were to establish shapes and patterns which will set me apart from other glass blowers as an artist in this series, I see large progression throughout my body of work in terms of quality and uniformity of my pieces throughout the structure. It was also hugely beneficial to the production of uniformed vessels in my artefacts used in installation.
